One soldier killed, many terrorists injured during attack in Yobe yesterday

One soldier was killed while scores of Boko Haram members were injured during an attack in Babangida, the Headquarters of Tarmuwa Local Government Headquarters in Yobe state yesterday June 14th.

Over 10 rifles and weapon, three hilux cars as well as hundreds of rounds of ammunition and some Hand Grenades were recovered from the terrorists. A vigilante member died while 5 were wounded during the attack.

Buhari off to South Africa, heads AU Summit

President Buhari will be departing Nigeria for South Africa on Saturday, June 13, to attend the 25th African Union Summit which is currently taking place in Johannesburg.

A statement issued on Friday in Abuja by the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, said Buhari will be undertaking his first continental assignment since taking office by chairing the meeting of the Peace and Security Committee of the AU summit, which will hold on Saturday, the day of his arrival.

US Congress women led by Representative Frederica Wilson yesterday June 10 met with 6 Nigerian girls who escaped from Boko Haram captivity.
The Congress women all wore red which is the color code for the Bringbackourgirls campaign.
They later filed outside the congress building carrying placards with the message”Bring Back Our Girls”.
Some Congress men also came out to lend their voices.

'On Monday at Ozar secondary school, Asa in Ukwa West LGA of Abia State when a student who was sent home by a teacher Mrs Njoku to barb her hair, regrouped with her mother and elder siblings to attack teachers and students.
